ゴールワーズは醸造所の創業者、マーティン・ベロットにより1858年に初めて醸造されました。
ローストした麦芽が、かすかなチョコレートの風味とスパイスを効かせたキャラメルの味わいを演出します。
ゴールワーズ・ブラウンはそのバランスの良い味と、しっかりと余韻を残す後味が特徴です。

“ゴールワーズ”とはフランス語で“ガリア人”という意味で、現在のベルギー、フランス、ルクセンブルグをさした歴史的な名前です。
ローマの総督、ジュリアス・シーザーは、BC58年にガリアを征服し、その後、ガリア文化はローマ文化により抑制され、最終的にはローマ帝国の一部となりました。
