When it comes to making IPAs, there are many philosophies, and if you get an opportunity to collaborate with someone as passionate about hops as you are, it’s a no-brainer. Our Thriving Metropolis West Coast IPA is the result of our philosophy combined with Ghost Town Brewing’s. Two minds are better than one, right? We brought the Cashmere, Simcoe, and small charges of Southern Hemisphere hops for the dry hop. We used Ghost Town’s preference for Pilsner malt, a minimalist kettle-hopping approach, and a hop so fresh it doesn’t have a name yet - HBC 586. The result is a mellifluous, broad, and modern West Coast IPA.

Sometimes one just isn’t enough. This second version of our Thriving Metropolis West Coast IPA shares a lot of virtues with the first: it’s still a collaboration of philosophies with our friends at Ghost Town Brewing, taking the best of both worlds from their minimal kettle hopping to our dry hop layering. But this time, we switch up the hop profile, leading instead with Riwaka and Columbus. The result is a sister brew to the first with subtle yet significant tasting note distinctions. A side-by-side comparison is recommended.

A Breakside staple since 2022 and still one of our all-time favorite IPAs. This award-winner took Bronze at the World Beer Cup (NZ IPA) and Silver at the 2024 Oregon Beer Awards, and last year’s fresh hop version? Total staff and fan obsession.
This year we’re sticking with the dry hop combo we love most: Riwaka, Columbus, Dolcita, plus a boost of Nelson from Freestyle Hops in place of some Simcoe. The result is that signature blend of classic American berry + stone fruit layered with the diesel, grapefruit, and catty edge that makes New Zealand hops pop.r
