セラーの樽をテイスティングした結果、ジョージ・ディッケルの16年熟成樽で熟成させたバーレーワインに決定しました。濃厚なキャラメル、バニラ、バーボンを思わせる風味に、瓶詰め直前に加えたフレッシュオレンジピールの柑橘系の香りがアクセントになっています。昨年のヴィンテージと比べて、今年のものはオールドファッションドカクテルに欠かせない角砂糖の風味を出すために残糖量を増やしました。

A returning favorite inspired by the world of cocktails, Old Fashioned is a blend of strong ales selected to capture the essence of the classic cocktail of the same name. After tasting through the barrels in our cellar, we settled on our barleywine aged in George Dickel 16-year casks. Rich caramel, vanilla, and bourbon-like flavors are accented by citrus notes from fresh orange peel added just before bottling. Compared to our previous vintage, this year’s has more residual sugar to capture the signature sugar cube you’d expect from an Old Fashioned cocktail. Sip this and imagine a time when news traveled slowly and a leather-bound book was your favorite companion.
